I’ve been a part of the team at Phlo since June 2018 and my role is actually perfectly suited to both of my areas of study i.e. Design and Pharmacy. This means that I work with both the development team and the pharmacy team when it comes to dispensing and delivering prescriptions. Everything I do relates to ensuring patients get the best experience possible, whether that’s enhancing our web app, or answering patient queries directly to help them access the medication they need. Technology has a big part to play in the future of everyone’s health, and it’s great to play a part in this.
I always loved science at school and knew I wanted a career in which I helped others as part of my job. The prospect of learning about human physiology and how medicines work in the body, along with the practical elements of the job made pharmacy a natural choice. In addition, bringing knowledge from a User Experience (UX) perspective is helping ensure visitors to our site get the information and help they need for their prescriptions as smoothly and easily as possible.
Helping patients and the variety of my job. Ensuring that patients get their medicines on time and providing them with medical advice that can have a positive impact. I also love that I can use both my pharmacy and design knowledge - taking patient feedback and turning it into actionable insights. We are a really patient focused team, and we are always striving to enhance our services.
We provide a real-time same-day delivery service to ensure that you can get your medicines delivered to you wherever you are and exactly when you need them.
Motivations: Helping others and pushing boundaries. Core values: Integrity, Empathy and Communication.
Reading, sketching, blogging, "gymming" and spending time with family. At the moment, I’m reading ‘Becoming’ by Michelle Obama – and here’s one of my sketches of Drogon, the dragon from Game of Thrones.
I like to go to the gym in the morning, but that’s not always possible so I tend to squeeze it in wherever I can. At the gym I like to mix it up to avoid me getting bored of doing the same routines on a weekly basis. Sometimes I’ll be doing cardio and strength training and other days I take yoga or boxing classes.
Near our pharmacy hub in Cambridge Heath, I often go to Hackney Coffee Company which has a relaxed atmosphere, great coffee and good food– Mama Shelter is also another great spot for coffee! Dinerama in Shoreditch is always good for food and drinks with friends. For health, design and technology exhibitions, I love visiting the Design Museum, the Barbican Centre and the Welcome Trust.
Keep a bottle of water with you everywhere you go, it’ll help to remind you to stay hydrated!
