COVID-19 Lockdown | What do I need to do

Cristian Halati

The status of the COVID-19 outbreak in the UK is changing on a daily basis. Phlo Digital Pharmacy, want to ensure this information is shared as widely as possible.

Here is a summery of the latest measures implemented by the UK Government, along with some guidance on how to best take care of yourself.

As of March 23rd, you may only leave your home:

  • To shop for basic essentials- only when you need to, and ideally as infrequent as possible.
  • One form of exercise a day, for example a run, walk, or cycle – alone or with members of your household.
  • For any medical need, or to provide care or help to a vulnerable person.
  • To travel to and from work, only where work absolutely cannot be done from home.

Now more than ever, a collective effort from the British public is imperative in order to overcome the COVID-19 crisis. Following these guidelines is absolutely essential for your personal safety and the safety of your family and those around you.

Remember, COVID-19 is not the flu. If you are a young person, do not assume you are invincible. Serious cases are being reported in the younger population, and you can transmit the virus to the vulnerable and wider population.

Do I need to stockpile?

Government advice is clear, there is no need to stockpile. There are no shortages of food. Food manufacturing has geared up to meet increased demands, and supermarkets across the UK are hiring more staff to support this.

Do go out shopping as infrequently as possible, but do not buy excessive amounts of products.

Be responsible and think of others such as NHS workers, essential workers, the elderly and disabled who might not have access to the items they need.

What should I do if I need to go outside?

Practice good social distancing: keep 2m (3 steps) away from other people at all times if you have to go outside.

Continue to practice good hygiene.  Wash your hands regularly throughout the day for at least 20 seconds and if you need to cough, do so into the crook of your elbow or into a tissue. Do not touch your face with your hands. Use hand sanitizer and/or soap and warm water if available.

Remember, Phlo Digital Pharmacy is here to help. If you, your friends or your family need medication, there is no need to risk going out to the pharmacy. We can take care of your prescription and deliver your medication to your door, safely, securely and quickly.
